Solairus Acquires Clay Lacy Aviation’s Aircraft Management & Charter Business

A Strategic Split for Solairus and Clay Lacy

Solairus has completed its acquisition of Clay Lacy Aviation’s aircraft management and charter business, with more than 135 aircraft owners already agreeing to transition across.

But the strategy behind the deal is perhaps more interesting than the acquisition itself.

For Solairus, it creates a managed fleet of more than 500 aircraft and provides greater scale to negotiate costs, expand services and strengthen its position in private aviation.

For Clay Lacy, selling these divisions allows the company to sharpen its focus on another valuable part of the aviation market — FBOs, aircraft maintenance and aviation real estate.

A good example of an acquisition where growth for one company also creates greater focus for the other.
